Children’s entertainers coming to Morinville and Gibbons

By Étienne Thevou

Sturgeon County – There will be a Ballooner Landing landing in Sturgeon county next week. Children’s performers Lee and Sandy Paley are set to perform in Gibbons and Morinville July 14 as part of both towns’ summer library programs.

The Paleys, along with their dog Do-Good, a shy pink parrot named Prudence and a flea named Tex Critter, starred in the children’ program Ballooner Landing, which ran for a decade and a half on a number of Canadian and American networks.

Over the past 25 years the couple have written and recorded more than 200 songs, performing them on their television program as well as in live performances across the country.

The Paleys will be performing at the Gibbons Community Hall at 10 a.m. and travel to Morinville in the afternoon for a 2:30 p.m. performance at the library.

The July 14 performances are sponsored by the Northern Lights Library System. This year, local libraries are carrying the Destination Jungle theme for their summer reading programs.
