Edson – RCMP report that a missing St. Albert couple’s motor home was found burned near the Minnow Lake campground outside Edson. The green and white 1999 Gulf Stream Sun Voyager had been engulfed in flames and was extinguished by the Edson Fire Department on July 5.

The owners of the motor home, 79-year-old Lyle Thomas McCann and his wife Marie Ann McCann (77) left St. Albert July 3 en route to Chilliwack, B.C. for a vacation and were expected to meet a family member in Abbotsford the morning of July 10.

When the McCanns failed to make the rendezvous, the couple were reported missing by relatives.

The couple were towing a light green Hyundai Tucson, Alberta license ZPK 289. The vehicle nor the couple has been found.

The investigation now involves the K Division Serious Crimes unit as well as the Edson and St. Albert Detachments and RCMP consider the circumstances surrounding these missing persons as extremely suspicious.

The public is asked to contact the St. Albert Detachment, Edson Detachment or any RCMP Detachment if they know anything about the person or vehicles involved in this incident.
