Le Tour de l’ Alberta

The Edmonton Bicycle and Touring Club will be descending on Morinville this Sunday for their annual Le Tour de l’ Alberta bike ride, a 20-, 50-, 100-, and 185-kilometre tour through various communities within Sturgeon County. This year’s event kicks off from the Ray McDonald Sports Centre and winds its way through the County, returning to Morinville for a celebratory feast.

Féte au Village

Although written about in greater detail earlier this week, Féte au Village in Legal is an event not to be missed. The annual celebration and homage to French culture takes place July 23 and 24. Details can be found here.

Let’s Flyball

If you like drag racing and you like dogs, you’ll love drag racing for dogs. And that is precisely what flyball is like. Once the lights go from red to green, dogs of all sizes come tearing down their chutes, jumping over hurdles, towards a little box that will give them a tennis ball, which they must take back up the chute at full speed to the end of the line.

The Ray McDonald Sports Centre will play host to the Ignite It Up! flyball tournament next weekend (July 31 – Aug 1). The event runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days. Admission is free, and spectators are encouraged to come out.

Active Living registrants sought

If your company or group offers products or services for recreation and quality of life to the residents of Morinville, then the Active Living Fair wants you. Registrations are now being sought for the annual fair, being held Sept. 11 at the RC Parish Centre in Morinville.
