Sturgeon County – Professional bull riders from around the world gathered at the Sturgeon Agriplex Aug. 14 for the 8th Annual Tearin’ Up The Turf event, more than four hours of on the edge of your seat excitement that drew a capacity crowd once again this year.

As in previous years, one of the highlights of the event was the half time mutton busting event, an opportunity for the little ones to try what the bull riders do on a smaller scale.

Prior to the opening of the bull riding, Deputy Mayor Paul Krauskopf presented Morinvilel and District Ag. Society President Barry Bradley with a cheque for $2,500 towards this year’s event.

The following video segment and photo gallery offers those who missed this year’s bull ride a taste of what spectators got to see Saturday afternoon.
