Celebrating Life & Culture

The Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation (SCHF) received a Community Services Grant of $1,500 from the Town of Morinville to assist with their upcoming fundraising event Celebrating Life & Culture set to take place Sept. 17 (the start of Alberta Art Days) at the Parish Hall in Morinville.

There will be visual arts displays from local artists, music and other entertainment as well. The arts and cultural component of the event will include a variety of visual arts from local artists as well as contribution from the students at Morniville Community High School.

The SCHF intend to make this an annual event. For more information on the event or to purchase tickets please contact Noreen Radford 780 939-3709.

Recognizing Festival Organizers

Morinville Fire Chief Ron Cust and 2010 St. Jean Baptiste Festival Chair Joel Chevalier were presented with certificates from the town by Mayor Lloyd Bertschi during the aug. 24 regular meeting of Morinville Town Council. the Mayor expressed his gratitude on behalf of the community to the two festival organizers for theri and their volunteers’ efforts this year.

Plans are already underway for next year’s festival, coinciding with Morinville’s 100th anniversary celebrations.
