Morinville – Second-term Greater St. Albert Catholic School board trustee Lauri-Ann Turnbull was elected chair of the board during Tuesday night’s organizational meeting.

Turnbull took the oath of office with five returning trustees and one new trustee, fellow Morinville representative Noreen Radford.

“I’m honoured to be elected by my peers but also very pleased to receive such a strong vote of confidence from the public to have 100 per cent of our incumbents running for re‐election be successful in their campaigns,” Turnbull said, adding she was pleased to have had the opportunity to welcome Radford to the board. “We look forward to her input and perspectives.”

Turnbull will be assisted by St. Albert representative Rosaleen McEvoy who was elected to the position of vice chair.

Outgoing board chair Dave Caron was said he was pleased to have served the role Turnbull now takes on.

“It’s a privilege to have served as board chair and [I] recognize this role is an important one for the division,” said outgoing board chair Dave Caron. “We are blessed with a dedicated group of trustees who are passionate about education and all the work that is being done in Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools to ensure that our students receive a high quality education. Lauri‐Ann Turnbull is an excellent choice to lead the Board in fulfilling this vision for the future.”

The Greater St. Albert Catholic School board is made up of seven trustees, representing the 17 schools in the division. There are four trustees in St. Albert, two from Morinville and one from Legal. St. Albert is represented by Dave Caron, Joan Crockett, Jacquie Hansen, and Rosaleen McEvoy.
