Students injured in bus collision

Legal – Two École Citadelle students were injured Monday afternoon when the bus they were travelling home from school in was struck by a pick up truck.

Morinville RCMP report the collision took place at approximately 4 p.m. Dec. 13 at the intersection of Township Road 582 and Range Road 252, just east of Highway 2.

RCMP investigations Monday evening revealed the school bus proceeded through a yield sign westbound on Township road 582 when it was hit broad side by a south bound pick up truck traveling on Range Road 252.

A 12 year old male was transported to Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance and a 12 year old female was transported to hospital by ground ambulance. Both children are reported to be in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.

The 23-year-old driver of the pick up and the 70-year-old bus driver were not injured in the collision. Six students were passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.

RCMP report the collission is still under investigation at this time.
