Titans even in wins and losses for January

Morinville – The Morinville Titans have picked up four points in four outings so far in January. The club were defeated in back-to-back outings early in the month, but achieved back-to-back victories this past week, although one of the contests was by default.

The Titans took to the road Friday night to take on the struggling Gibbons Broncos and returned home with an 8-3 victory over the team. Saturday night’s scheduled road game to take on the bottom-dwelling Sherwood Park Renegades, currently sitting in last place in the league, ended in the Renegades forfeiting the game.

The four points and two games the Titans picked up on the weekend brought their season record to 15-5-3 and helps to make up for the two losses the club took earlier this month.

The Titans were defeated 2-1 by the SWZ Oil Kings Jan. 7 and suffered a 7-4 loss to the SWZ Sentinels Jan. 10.

The club has five games left in the 28-game Noralta Junior C hockey League season. The Titans’ next two contests are road games – first against the Seera Stealth Jan. 27 and then against the Wabamun Wings Jan. 29. The club returns to home ice Jan. 30 to play against the Seera Stealth once again. Game time is 7:30 at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre.
