Sturgeon County – Morinville native Steve Bosch’s modern rock trio White Lightning is getting ready to launch their new full-length album See It All. The CD will be released in a unique CD release party in Edmonton Feb. 5.

“White Lightning is a hard working band that has been building local buzz throughout Edmonton’s music scene,” Bosch said. “We have a single on SONIC 102.9 FM and were recently band of the month. We were also nominated in the Edmonton Music Awards contending for best live show.”

The White Lightning front man said the band has also had the privilege of sharing the stage with a number of popular acts, including Daniel Wesley, Hey Ocean, Christian Hansen, and several others.

Additionally, the band has had success in a few reputable battle-of-the-band competitions, including the TEAM 1260 radio contest, Alberta’s Last Band Standing, and Futuresfest.

Bosch said White Lightning has been recording their first full length album for the past six months, incorporating a variety of unique recording methods.

“We recorded three of the 17 tracks on this CD inside of a 30,000 bushel grain bin in order to capture its incredible natural reverb and ambiance that fit perfectly with the mood of the songs,” Bosch said. “We recorded and produced most of the tacks on the album ourselves, but have also worked with a few local producers around the city for some additional collaboration.”

Bosch said the band has a lot of fans in the Morinville, Bon Accord, Gibbons area and that in addition to excitement surrounding the forthcoming album, there is also a lot of excitement around White Lightning’s live show.

“A typical show for us is filled with kazoos, trash cans, megaphones, beat boxing, and strong musicality,” Bosch said. “White Lightning’s CD release party February 5th at Avenue Theatre can be expected to be our most entertaining extravagant show yet as we recreate our entire album, incorporating audience participation, visual and dramatic effects.”

The show takes place at the Avenue Theatre, located at 9030 118 Avenue in Edmonton. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is set to start at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 per person.
