Morinville Monday round Up

Elvis has left the building ... for the garage. Morinville's Elvis Tribute Artist Rick Johnsen spent some time practicing in his garage last Thursday. Johnsen will be performing at the St. Albert Lions Club's 20th Annual Beer and Beans Bash Feb. 26. Tickets are $20 and are available by calling Gerry at 780-459-7751.
HATS (Hands Across the Sea) raised $1,250 this past weekend during their silent auction and white elephant sale. The proceeds will be used for the grandmothers to grandmothers program, which helps African grandmothers who have been left to raise 13 million orphans whose parents have died from AIDS. Letting off some steam

An Ivis Inc. employee monitors the steam process on a manhole rehabilitation last week.

The Town of Morinville has been rehabilitating a number of its older manholes over the past few years by having a high-tech polymer liner installed instead of tearing up the streets to use conventional methods..

The multilayer liner is cured to the manhole walls with an epoxy set by steam.

The Town of Morinville is doing 18 manholes this year at a cost of approximately $169,000 considerably less than conventional rip and repair techniques.
