DARE graduation
We would like to congratulate our grade five students for the completion of the DARE program. On Wednesday, Apr. 27 the students shared their essays on what they had learned during their weekly sessions with the RCMP officers. Students also chose two students from amongst their peers whom they thought demonstrated great citizenship skills in their classroom. We would like to sincerely thank the Rural Crime Watch for their contribution of the T-shirts received by each student and the prizes won by the recipients of the essay and citizenship awards. Thank you also to the grade five teachers for their time to prepare the graduation and helping the students in their sessions.

Congratulations Mrs. MacKinnon
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mrs. MacKinnon on her nomination as a semi-finalist in the “Excellence for Teaching” award. Mrs. MacKinnon runs our full time physical education program, teaching students from kindergarten to grade five. She also dedicates her time to providing our students with many other physical education opportunities such as Running Club, Lunch time intramurals, Journal Games and Grade 1, 2, 3 Fun Days just to name a few.

Thank you Mrs. MacKinnon for your enthusiasm, dedication and passion in teaching our students.

Celebrating a Second Language
Our French Immersion students have had many community opportunities to share their musical talents by singing O’Canada at various events. Under the musical direction of Mme Ricard the grade four and five French Immersion students sang at the Morinville Trade Show, the re-enactment of the Town of Morinville and at the ESSO Cup in St Albert.

On Apr. 20 and 21, all of our students had the opportunity to partake in singing and dancing activities led by “Les Bucherons”. Students learned about the French Culture through story and song. Each grade level participated in a final performance in the afternoon of Apr. 21.
