Morinville Town Council has heavy agenda Tuesday

Morinville – Tuesday night’s meeting of Morinville Town Council will once again be broadcast live through MorinvilleNews.com, allowing Morinvillians an opportunity to see and hear what is going on.

Like any new idea, broadcasting council meetings has had a few bugs to sort out. However, those bugs have been ironed flat in time for what should be an active agenda.

Highlights of Tuesday’s meeting include a presentation from Champion Petfoods to update council on the progress of their efforts to mitigate the odour coming from the plant, and a request for decision on the Subdivision Development Appeal Board’s conditions regarding the opening of the Community Cultural Centre (CCC). The conditions were established in response to an appeal from Morinville resident Tim Stirling arguing noise from the CCC would adversely affect neighbouring residents. One of the conditions was that a sound assessment be done by a qualified expert with final sound mitigation methods approved by council at a public meeting prior to the granting of the occupancy permit.

Additional presentations will be made on a proposed fountain for St. Jean Baptiste Park and an update to the 2011 budget is to be discussed regarding the underestimation of salary costs for the Planning and development Department.

Council starts at 7:30 p.m. and access to the video feed can be found here.

Please note video quality and stability will vary depending on individual computer or internet connections.
