Morinville – California-based Circus Gatti rolled into town Thursday for four performances at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

The traditional three-ring circus was begun in 1963 by Matthew J. Gatti, a retired American military man, under the name American Continental Circus. He also founded the Canadian International Circus. The two shows ultimately became Circus Gatti.

Although Gatti died in 1991, the circus that bears his name is still bringing the founder’s vision of bringing enjoyment to children, family bonding, and giving back to the community.

That vision was presented to Morinville audiences Thursday night in an afternoon and evening performance. The circus has two shows remaining Friday: 4:15 and 7:30 p.m.

Below are some highlights of Thursday afternoon’s performance.
