Around the Town – midweek edition

Fiddlin’ around - Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Champion Scott Woods brought his fast-paced concert of old time fiddling, gospel music and perennial favourites to the Morinville Parish Hall May 24. The two-hour performance was a fund raiser for the St. Jean Baptiste Parish restoration and maintenance project. - Stephen Dafoe Photo
Off to lunch - A common tern flies through the air above the Morinville Fish and Game Club Pond, looking to dive into the water to get its next meal. The trail system around the pond affords residents a great opportunity for a short walk with plenty of opportunities to watch birds and water fowl. - Stephen Dafoe Photo
Laying a solid foundation - A skid-steer loader prepares the foundation for the centennial fountain that will be erected in St. Jean Baptiste Park over the next few weeks. The fully-functional water attraction is set to be officially turned on at the conclusion of the St. Jean Baptiste Festival parade June 25. – MN.com Staff Photo
The colours of spring - Town employees worked on the central flower bed at St. Jean Baptiste Park May 24. Just shy of 700 plants were arranged in the circular bed in front of the Notre Dame Apartments. A second bed is being planned with the flowers formed into the number 100 in honour of Morinville's centennial year. - Stephen Dafoe Photo
