Alexander hosts another successful Pow-Wow

Alexander – The sun wasn’t the only thing beating down on Alexander over the weekend. Warm weather and a positive spirit combined for an enjoyable opening day to this year’s Kipohtakaw Annual Traditional Pow-Wow. The Grand Entry took place Saturday afternoon with Chief Allen Paul and other dignitaries lead elders, the RCMP, military and plenty of dancers into the arena. Those dancers in their multi-coloured regalia spent the day dancing to the beat of a dozen drum groups and the patter of MC Douglas Bonaise. Another Grand Entry was held Saturday evening and again Sunday.

Alexander’s pow-wow is a traditional pow-wow where dancers come to dance in a non-competitive format.

Below is a photo gallery from Saturday afternoon.
