Around the Town – midweek edition

With summer vacations largely over, people are settling in for late summer work and activities. here is some of what’s been happening so far this week.

Magical times
Magician Brian Lehr will be appearing at the Community Cultural Centre Wednesday at 2 p.m., part of the library’s summer reading program. The popular children’s entertainer has been coming to the library each summer for the past few years, always tailoring his act to the Summer Reading Program theme. Admission is free for summer reading program members, $3 per child for non members.

A paving we will go
Work crews have begone preparation work to pave 107 Street in Morinville from the courthouse to the Morinville Fish and Game Club. The project was identified in the 2011 budget and is largely being funded by provincial grant money and subdivision developer contributions.

Down she comes
Mark Damon of Room By Room does a little tree trimming at the Villa Tina Apartments on 100 Street. The local company will be giving the building a fresh coat of paint over the next couple of weeks.
