Jets defeat Wolverines in final preseason game

Morinville – Fast on the forecheck and relentless in goal, a rookie-heavy Morinville Jets took to the ice Wednesday night handily defeating the visiting Whitecourt Wolverines 6-1.

The preseason victory was the Jets’ fourth in five games so far this year. Their only upset was Sept. 7 when they were defeated 6-0 by the Wetaskiwin Icemen. Last weekend saw the Jets take three straight games in a preseason tournament in fort Saskatchewan. That weekend outing included a 9-6 victory of the Hawks, a 9-3 win over the Bruins and a 3-2 victory over the Merchants.

The Jets start the CJHL season Sunday night in Morinville when they take on the Leduc Riggers. Game time is 6:45 at the ray McDonald Sports Centre.
