Legal – The Vipers rebounded from a hard-fought shoot out loss against the Athabasca Aces Friday night to deliver the visiting Hinton Heat with a 13-4 upset Saturday evening. The win and shootout loss bring the Vipers to 1-1-1 on the season.

Friday night’s contest against Athabasca was the second pairing this season and the Vipers’ second defeat at the hands of the Aces. But where the Vipers were taken down in regulation play in their home opener Oct. 15, Friday night’s contest went to nine round sin the shoot out before the Vipers fell.

Saturday night; however, the Vipers managed to get the two points they had been seeking with a solid 13-4 victory over the visiting Hinton Heat, the latter’s third consecutive loss.

With one win, one loss, and one shoot out loss, the Vipers are playing .500 hockey early in. The club will have the opportunity to rise above that level this weekend when the Slave Lake Winterhawks come to Legal. Game time is 8:30 p.m. Oct. 28.
