Hurry! Haaard! - Morinville Public Elementary School teacher Sandra Wood talks to her class about the basics of curling. Wood told students each rock weighs 42 pounds and explained it would be like sliding a three-year-old down the ice. The students will be at the Ray McDonald curling club each Friday in December for curling lessons from REAL pros as part of the school's unique physical education program. MCHS’ production of Pirates of Penzance closes Friday evening. final performance is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 and available at Sobeys and the high school. The play takes place at MCHS.

Higher Grounds’ Hot Dogma open mic night takes a festive twist Friday night with a Christmas-themed show. Thirteen performers are lined up for what is sure to be the biggest night yet. Performance starts at 7 p.m.
