Morinville – Comedian, storyteller, musician and playwright Lorne Elliott brings his one-man show to the Morinville Community Cultural Centre Friday night. Dubbed the King of Canadian Comedy, Elliott is the second comedian to take to the stage in the Centennial concert Series.

“We are delighted to have this wonderful Canadian entertainer as part of our inaugural professional season in the beautiful new Community Cultural Centre,” said facility manager Laurie Stalker. “He’s a rare treat, and I know he’ll bring the house down.”

Elliott is the long-time host of the CBC Radio program Madly Off in All Directions, and has performed his one man show around the globe in theatres, colleges and nightclubs. He has also played the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival and appeared on numerous television programs.

He began performing in 1974 as a folk musician, simultaneously developing his fiction, songs, monologues and one-liners. Today Elliott’s show is described as “a very special show of comedy and music, totally original, entertaining, up-lifting and foolish enough to make everybody laugh.”

The Lorne Elliott Show takes place Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students/seniors. Tickets are available at the door, www.tixonthesquare.ca and www.morinvillecentre.ca.
