Morinville – The Sturgeon Foundation, who operates seniors’ lodges in the area, announced Friday it would be moving ahead with two capital projects, thanks to grants from the provincial government.

Chateau Sturgeon Lodge in Legal is set to receive upgrades to its mechanical system. The work, the result of an energy audit of the facility in 2011, will include replacing two boilers, a hot water tank, heat pumps and motors. It is anticipated HO Engineering, who were awarded the contract last week, will conduct the upgrades this summer.

Diamond Spring Lodge in Redwater will receive a remodelling of its kitchen and two resident’s rooms. The Sturgeon Foundation said the renovations will improve health and safety conditions for residents and staff. The renovations will also be done in the summer months.
