The boys and girls of summer
The Morinville Mixed Softball League took to the diamonds over the weekend to kick off their season. Skyline diamonds saw plenty of softball action at all four diamonds.

SATURDAY


Justin Proulx, a volunteer with the Legal Fire Department, helps with the cooking Saturday morning at the Legal Fire Hall prior to the start of the Town Wide garage sale. The Fire Department hosted a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Breakfast was $5 per person with the proceeds going towards the playground project. – Lucie Roy Photo

Tragedy struck north of Morinville Saturday afternoon. Fire destroyed a home along Highway 2. The fire jumped the highway but was brought under control within short order. Local firefighters responded to seven calls within an hour, including the home fire, a non-residential structure fire, two vehicle fires and others. – Submitted Photo

The Cardiff Golf and Country Club Restaurant held a Mother’s Day Brunch Sunday. The homemade delicacies were prepared by Red Seal Chef Margaret Andris who is in the process of working towards the Chef de Cuisine. Nicknamed “Ma” Andris just started this spring at the restaurant. She is also on the culinary Team Nait and will be going to Germany for the second time to the Culinary Olympics.
