Morinville – The second annual regional business symposium drew an audience of approximately 220 Thursday afternoon. The event, a partnership between four municipalities in Sturgeon County, was held at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre and provided participants the opportunity to learn about current and future growth opportunities in Sturgeon County.

Athabasca-Redwater MLA and Education Minister Jeff Johnson commended the municipalities of Bon Accord, Morinville, Gibbons and Sturgeon County for getting together to host the symposium and said regional cooperation was a key to business success today.

Bill Whitelaw, CEO of June Warren-Nickle’s Energy Group, was Master of Ceremonies for this year’s symposium and introduced speakers Ian McGregor, Chairman of the Board of the North West Redwater Partnership, Climate Change & Emissions Management Corporation spokesperson Dr. David Lewin, Todd Hirsch, Senior Economist with ATB Financial, and Ross Hodgins, dealer principal of Frontier Honda and RV City. Each speaker brought his perspective on the keys to business success and the growth opportunities available in the region from a local, regional, provincial and national perspective.
