Human remains found in County identified

Edmonton – Human remains found near in Sturgeon County near Morinville May 16 were confirmed Friday to be those of Deanna Bellerose, last seen in Edmonton Sept. 9, 2002.

The remains were discovered last month by a surveyor working in the area of Township Road 552 and Range Road 245, prompting a two-day search of the area by Morinville RCMP, Edmonton Major Crimes Unit, Project KARE Investigators, Police Dog Service, Forensic Identification Services and Search and Rescue.

Police investigators have not yet determined the cause, manner and time of death and are continuing their investigations. The death is being investigated by K Division’s Serious Crimes Branch, which includes Project KARE.
Investigators are seeking the assistance of the public, and are urging anyone having information regarding Bellerose’s disappearance, to contact their local police agency, or Crimestoppers.

Bellerose would have been 39 last Friday.
