Sturgeon County – A man is dead after a collision Saturday night. Morinville RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision at a Sturgeon County residence around 9:15 p.m. June 16.
Police report the deceased, a 22-year-old male, lost control of his motorcycle and struck the residence. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, and speed appears to have contributed to the collision. RCMP do not suspect alcohol to have been a factor.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
Second collision
Forty-five minutes later, police responded to a single vehicle collision in the Town of Bon Accord. Upon arrival, police learned a vehicle had run into the front of a building. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision. A 71-year-old female was charged with careless driving.
