Alexander – The sun wasn’t the only thing beating down on Alexander over the Canada Day weekend. Warm weather and a positive spirit combined for an enjoyable opening day to this year’s Kipohtakaw Annual Traditional Pow Wow. The Grand Entry took place Saturday afternoon with Chief Herb Arcand leading dignitaries, elders, and plenty of dancers into the arena. Those dancers in their multi-coloured regalia spent the day dancing to the beat of a large number of drum groups and the patter of MC Douglas Bonaise. Another Grand Entry was held Saturday evening and again Sunday.

Alexander’s Pow Wow is a traditional Pow Wow where dancers come to dance in a non-competitive format.
