Morinville – Library patrons will be able to get a little summer reading done now that the Morinville Community Library has resumed limited services.

Although work is still being done on the expanded library space in St. Germain Place, Assistant Library Manager Cheryl Pasechnik said the library is operating this week from a second floor meeting room in the building. The library room will be open 8:30 a.m. until 4:40 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and the drop box will be available afterhours for patrons to return their books. While that work is being completed, services will be limited to returning books and picking up books brought in through the Inter-Library Loan Program.

Once construction work is completed in the library’s main floor location, the library will resume operations in the front end of the facility until the new shelves can be built and stocked with books. “We will be operating with limited services the same as we had at the Parish Hall,” Pasechnik said, noting those services will include returns and pickups of library holds as well as the new release section. “We will also be doing our summer reading program in the program room of the library. That starts July 16 and we are still taking registrations for that because there is still room.”

The assistant manager said she thinks patrons will be really pleased with their new library once all the work is done. “It looks awesome,” she said. “We are really excited about what this library is going to look like.”
Progress updates and notifications on operation hours can be found on the Morinville Community Library’s website at www.morinvillelibrary.ca.
