Obituary notice: Christopher, Matthew Stephen

24 July 2012 One Comment

Christopher, Matthew Stephen (October 7, 1981 – July 23, 2012)

It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew Stephen Christopher announces his passing on July 23, 2012 at the age of 30 years, after multiple painful battles with cancer.

Matthew was a vibrant individual who participated in the RCMP Civilian Search Dog Association and the Canadian Search Dog Association. He helped those he could and was a good friend to very many.

Matthew will be lovingly remembered by his wife Erin, father Stephen, brother Keith (Deanna), sister Amy, grandmother, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matthew was predeceased by his mother, Shirley.

As per Matthew’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. His preference would be for friends and family to get together sometime over the next year to remember what made him who he was. Donations in memory of Matthew may be made to the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation Head and Neck Cancer Surgery Program.

Oh Matthew – we will miss you so much and think of you often and remember that day the picture was taken in Nova Scotia. Erin you continue to be in my prayers. I hope Matt and Jim can train together and work our old dogs till we meet up again. Lovingly Nora
