Reaume returns with medals

Morinville – A local kayaker and Georges H. Primeau students is returning to Morinville with two medals from the Alberta Summer Games, held in Lethbridge over the weekend.

Twelve-year-old Kassandra Reaume competed in Kayak 1 slalom and a Canoe 2 downriver event with a partner from her club as well as polo. She earned a gold in Kayak 1 slalom an dsilver in the team race.

The young woman has been involved in the sport for two years and has shown great proficiency in the sport thus far, culminating in the double medal win over the weekend.

Miss Reaume was not available for comment prior to our deadline.
