It is once again, time for Joe to announce the nominees for this summer’s sizzling Joe Morinville Awards. Nominations will be accepted in THIS online poll until Aug. 22. Winners will be announced in our Aug. 29 edition and awarded after in person.
BEST LUNCH IN DOWNTOWN MORINVILLE
There is nothing better than a good lunch and Morinville has lots of options. Here are the eateries you keep telling us about. Which one has the best lunch of the bunch?
BEST FAST FOOD JOINT
Of course not everyone has time to sit down and wait for someone to whip up a bite to eat like we retirees do. Some of you have to grab it on the run. So if you are running behind and running on empty, what fast food joint makes you want to come back again and again. We didn’t count pizza shops in this one because they were in my last awards.
BEST FANCY COFFEE JOINT
My editor is a boring man when it comes to coffee (and almost everything else). He drinks his coffee straight up with a little milk. Me, I like them fancy coffees with the hard to pronounce names, the ones they put a little fancy design on the top of so you are slow to drink it lest you ruin a work of caffeinated art. We have a couple excellent fancy coffee shops in town. Which is the best.
MOST EFFECTIVE MEMBER OF COUNCIL
Enough about food and drink. Let’s turn our attention to people that drive us to drink. Yeah, I know the summer is here and they aren’t doing much other than holidaying like the rest of us, but so far this term (which is more than half over) who has done the best job of getting the job done.
