Modulars moved
Two modular units formerly used by Morinville Public Elementary School were transported from the former Georges P. Vanier grounds to Notre Dame Catholic Elementary School Monday. Triple H Transport arrived early in the morning to begin the prep work to move the modular units. With the ground saturated due to recent rain, the task of hoisting the structures was a bit more challenging. The one modular was at Notre Dame by 1:30 p.m. Calvin Wait, Director of Facilities for Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools was on site for the move. – Lucie Roy Photo

And sew on
Heritage Lodge residents Pat Allen and Violet Lacroix were busy working on no sew blankets Monday morning. The residents made four over the on the weekend and they have already been sold. The blankets are of a special design that does not require sewing. – Lucie Roy Photo

He’s up to his elbows in his work
Morinville Community Library employee Rory Turner was up to his elbows and beyond trying to get some stuck books out of the Town of Morinville’s after-hours drop box. Despite signage, some patrons are returning library materials in the Town’s box instead of the library drop box, located at the east end of the building. Turner’s long arm was able to retrieve the books in time to get back to his work with the summer reading program. – Stephen Dafoe Photo

It’s magic
Magician Brian Lehr returned to Morinville Wednesday afternoon for another well-received performance. About 50 children and their parents came out for the show, the final performance in this year’s Summer Reading Program.
