Column: From the desk of RCMP

26 August 2012 No Comment

By Staff Sergeant Mac Richards

Summer is quickly coming to a close and with that, comes the start of another school year. Every year the Morinville RCMP receive numerous complaints from bus drivers. These range from passing when the red lights are flashing, following too close, passing when unsafe and passing on double solid lines.

All of these are criminal offences and can affect your ability to hold a driver’s licence. Most often the driving behaviours are as a result of impatience or in attention. I encourage motorists to be patient and allow the bus drivers to do their jobs safely and within the law. A mistake in judgement by you could have dire consequences.
