By Stephen Dafoe

Morinville – Five of six municipal by-election candidates made their pitch to Chamber of Commerce members at the group’s monthly luncheon Wednesday afternoon.

Lining up to state their case was Jackie Luker, Sheldon Fingler, Jim O’Brien, Kevin Wedick and Bonnie Moerike. Candidate Joseph Trapani was in Calgary Wednesday and unable to attend.

Each candidate was given five minutes to make their case to Morinville’s business community. Speeches were followed by open questions from the floor. Few questions were asked. Those that were dealt with the need for a clothing store in town and a question about what candidates would do to smooth the business licence / development permit process.

Below are the five candidate speeches in the order they were presented. Each candidate drew a number on their arrival to determine speaking order.
