Morinville – The Jets 5-4 overtime win against the visiting Leduc Riggers Saturday night was the club’s first victory in four outings. With an 11-7-0 record nearly half way through the CJHL season, the Jets sit in fourth place in the league’s West Division.

Saturday night’s game saw the Jets decked out in pink jerseys in aid of breast and prostate cancer research, but the team was hardly in the pink for most of the game. A 2-1 lead at the end of the first was whittled away in the middle frame as the Riggers kept the Jets scoreless while pocketing three to bring the contest to 4-2 in their favour. Fortunately for the Jets they were able to even the score by the end of the third, allowing them to end on a high note by being the first to capitalize in overtime.

The Jets take to the road Nov. 28 to take on the North Edmonton Red Wings. The next home game is Dec. 2 against the league-leading Spruce Grove Regals (17-2-1). Game time is 6:45 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre.

Alumni return
