Morinville – The Jets took it to five consecutive wins Friday night with a 10-2 victory over the visiting Edmonton Mustangs. The win brought the Jets’ record to 18-11-0 this season and puts them tied with the Merchants for fourth place in the CJHL’s West Division.

The club came out hard in the opening period Friday night to earn a 5-0 lead. Two of the Jets’ tally of goals was scored within nine seconds of one another and the fifth goal was scored with just 1.8 seconds left on the clock.

The Mustangs finally lit their side of the board a minute into the middle frame, but the goal was answered by the Jets with 7:03 left on the clock to bring the score to 6-1.

Third period game play saw the Jets increase their tally by another four, the Mustangs only one.

The club takes to the road Sunday afternoon to take on the Strathcona Bruins, a club that currently sits at 14-15-2 this season.
