Trooping in the love

By Morinville News Staff

Morinville – The 2nd Morinville Sparks troop wanted to share the love with Aspen House seniors this Valentine’s Day. The troop visited the facility Feb. 11 and the seniors loved the handmade Valentine cards the Sparks made for them. The children also sang a few songs for the seniors and enjoyed cookies and juice with them.

“Watching the seniors faces light up with delight was an amazing experience in itself,” said Sparks leader Eva Scrimshaw. “We often forget that there is a group of citizens that need love too and what better way than from children.”

There are currently 15 Sparks in the group. Scrimshaw said the group meets on Monday nights and do lots of fun girly things. “We are run by volunteer guiders like myself and my partners,” she said, adding the group is looking for volunteers to run Sparks this September.
