Wolves take second spot

The MCHS Wolves Sr. Boys basketball team took second place in their invitational tournament over the weekend. The team opened with a 65-36 victory over the Redwater Renegades, then went on to defeat Ponoka 50-44 in the semi-final. The boys fell 56-49 in the final to Eastglen to take 2nd place in the tournament.

Lady Wolves emerge strong
The MCHS Sr Girls battered the Lacombe Rams in the final of the Lacombe tourney over the weekend. The Lady Wolves defeated the Rams 56-36 en route to first place. The team were almost washed away by the Sylvan Lake Lakers in the first game, but took the contest 48-45.
In the semi-finalm the Lady Wolves defense frustrated the Holy Rosary Raiders winning 47-35.

Sturgeon Hockey Club Player of the Week
Cooper Michael is a member of the Initiation 1A team. He is in his second year of hockey and his favorite player is Jordan Eberle. Cooper’s favourite thing about hockey is having fun. He loves to shoot the puck and score goals.
