Column: From the Desk Of Community Services

At long last: Spring! Your Community Services team is excited to share the new Spring-Summer Commu- nity Guide, with many new and returning favourite programs to choose from. You can expect your copy in the mailbox in the next few weeks, or visit www. morinville.ca for an advance sneak peek.

During National Volunteer week, April 22 – 27, Mor- inville will celebrate volunteerism in our Community. Watch for further information in the papers and on our website, and get ready to nominate the outstanding local volunteers who contribute so much to our com- munity.
This spring, your Community Services team is launching a new initiative: Into the Green Scene. Events will focus on environmental awareness and ac- tion, beginning with Earth Day on April 22 and include Operation Clean Sweep, It’s Raining Art (a partnership with Morinville Home Hardware to promote the use of rain barrels) and the Town Wide Garage Sale.

We look forward to seeing our friends getting out- side when the warmer weather comes, however there are still great things to come inside the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. Visit www.morinvillecentre.ca for information on the remaining series shows, Blues Berries and Calvin Vollrath’s Spring Fling featur- ing Natalie McMaster. Happy Spring!
