Edmonton – Ten Morinville and area residents travelled to Edmonton May 23 to take part in the Edmonton Victor Walk, a three-kilometre trek from Churchill Square to the Alberta Legislature that drew approximately 100 participants looking to raise awareness of child sex abuse. The event was also a fundraiser for Little Warriors, an Edmonton-based organization looking to create a treatment centre. Victor Walks took part in 25 Canadian cities Thursday. The Edmonton walk received the support of Wildrose leader Danielle Smith and Liberal leader Raj Sherman as well as a number of MLAs.

Morinville resident Brandi (last name withheld to protect daughter’s identity) spoke on the Alberta Legislature steps about why she participated in the walk and why Little Warriors ad their efforts were critical to her and other survivors.

Below is an audio recording of that speech.
