Column: From the Desk of Community Services

By Kerry Dawson

We’ve had a very exciting spring, with many new programs, initiatives and excellent entertainment from your Community Services Department. From greening initiatives to early childhood, recreation and sports programs to cultural events at the Community Cultural Centre, Morinville has been busy.

Summer events are on deck, and the excitement is building as we partner with many community organizations on events and initiatives to keep the fun rolling. Some highlights of the upcoming season include the St. Jean Baptiste Festival, Canada Day Celebrations, Tour de l’Alberta and the launch of the new performance season at the Community Cultural Centre. Watch the paper for more details!

The Community Services team is working to provide quality programs through the summer months and is already looking ahead for the fall. The summer camp programs are filling up fast, and planning is well underway for the Fall Community Guide, coming to your mailbox in late August.

The winter was long, spring was late and short… it’s time to break out the sunscreen and floppy hats and enjoy our trails and parks this summer in Morinville.
