RCMP looking for help in locating missing man

Morinville RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in gathering information that will lead to the whereabouts of Valentine (Val) Degenhardt who has connections to Salmon Arm, BC and Sturgeon County. Degenhardt has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Degenhardt was last seen in Barrhead at approximately 5:30 p.m. July 17. He was last seen driving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee bearing Alberta licence BJS 0889. The vehicle had a SportRack model 40-1154-2, positioned on the passenger’s side roof. Degenhardt’s family is concerned for his safety, describing his disappearance out of character. Nothing at this time indicates that foul play is involved. The investigation is ongoing and the Edmonton RCMP Major Crimes Unit is assisting.

JEEPVal Degenhardt is described as a 45 year-old Caucasian male with green eyes, brown and gray hair, with a gray goatee. He is approximately 5’8 “ tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds.

The RCMP is also seeking the public’s assistance in locating a burned out SUV which was observed on a flat deck heavy duty truck July at approximately 7:30 a.m. The truck was travelling southbound on Highway 2 north of St-Albert.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Degenhardt or the burned out SUV is asked to contact the Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4520 or call Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
