Pasta perfection

Youth Centre employee Katie Filipowski gives Caroline Holubowsch some pointers on the proper way to cut garlic. Five Morinville teens participated in an Iron Chef event Aug. 7 in the Morinville Community Cultural Centre’s commercial kitchen.

Fellow Youth Centre employee Brian Croft said the event opens the door on the opportunity to have additional Iron Chef events in town as well as send a local competitor to provincial competitions. “If we can get one of these girls to a competition like that, it would be fantastic,” Croft said.

The cooking event was one of a number of activities the Youth Centre has run this summer. Croft said as the summer has progressed he and Filipowski have had the opportunity to meet more and more local youth. They have been able to make them aware of what the centre will offer during the school year.

Local youth can keep up to date with Youth Centre activities by visiting www.facebook.com/morinvilleyouthworker.
