Morinville – Pro Level Looks officially opened their doors Friday afternoon with a traditional ribbon cutting, but it is the cutting of men’s, women’s and children’s hair that will be part of the businesses focus, now that the doors are open.

Owner Bonnie Provost said she has long wanted to own a salon of her own. Her patience, planning and faith has allowed that dream to come true.

“Since I was a hairdresser, I wanted to,” Provost said of opening the shop. “If someone came in and they were unhappy, it always made me feel good that they left happy. I think for a lot of hairdressers, that’s what they love about it. I always wanted to open a salon and I thought it was just too unreachable.”
The shop, located on the corner of 100 Avenue and 100 Street in Morinville’s downtown core, offers two floors of hair and body care. The ground floor includes a waiting area with television, music and even a couple guitars for customers to play. Pro Level Looks stylists are up on all the latest hair techniques, Provost says, and the team is excited to join the family of talented hair stylists in Morinville.

“We do all hair services,” she said. “We have Tuesdays as our seniors’ day, and we want to kind of focus on the seniors for that day. Prices will all be senior prices and we want to gear our music to the seniors and have some extra baking for them.”

The second floor of the operation has rooms for esthetics, permanent makeup, and spa treatments. Provost said she will be offering special packages for weddings and graduations.

Provost is planning to pay it forward and get involved in the community by working with Morinville Community High School and Sturgeon Composite High School to offer opportunities for work experience students taking cosmetology to come and help at the new salon.

Pro Level Looks is open Monday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The salon is closed on Sundays. Walk-ins are welcome.
