Theft from vehicles in Legal

theft1-webOn or about September 6th, 2013, during the early morning hours, unknown individual(s) entered unlocked vehicles in the Legal area. The individual(s) were targeting fuel cards and other small valuables. Since the incident, an unknown male attempted to get fuel with a stolen fuel card at the Legal co-op. Video surveillance of that incident was obtained and is showing an unknown male driving an older Red Dodge Ram club cab, with a heavy duty cattle grill. Morinville RCMP are looking for assistance in identifying the individual.

Morinville RCMP are asking for the help of the public in solving this crime. Battery theft from travel trailers

Morinville RCMP would like to warn citizens about an increase in Morinville and Sturgeon County of battery theft from travel trailers and specialized machinery in residential and industrial areas.

Just like theft from vehicles, this is a crime of opportunity. Don’t be a target. Remove your batteries from your travel trailers or specialized machinery when they are not in use.

Theft of truck in Morinville

Sometime during the early morning hours of September 26th, 2013, unknown individual(s) stole a 2005 Black Ford F250, diesel with a sled deck on the back. The truck was parked at a residence in the area of 84 Avenue and 94 Street in Morinville.

Morinville RCMP have noticed an increase of theft and attempted theft of Ford F-Series trucks in the area in the past few weeks.

In Canada, F-Series trucks were four of the top 10 most stolen vehicles through 2012. Owners can contact a local Ford Dealer or vehicle alarm store regarding installation of an alarm system and a steering wheel lock can be purchased at most retail stores.
