Morinville – It was a walk along Boardwalk and Park Place for local business owners Thursday night. The Morinville and District Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards night at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre, this year with a Monopoly theme. Awards were given out for home-based, small, medium, and large businesses of the year, as well as awards recognizing volunteerism, longterm contributions and youth entrepreneurial spirit. Chamber members were also recognized for years of membership.

“We have to showcase our businesses,” said Chamber President Simon Boersma of the need for the annual event. “We have to showcase the success of our businesses. It is step by step that we are building this community. It is an amazing thing that as businesses grow, our community grows. We want to celebrate this.”
