Apple Fest on its way
The sweet smell of baked apple dumplings came from the kitchen at the Rendez-Vous Centre last week, as Theresa Gervais and Pauline Kiriak were busy making 64 dumplings for the upcoming Apple Fest & Craft Sale to be held at the centre Nov 2. The annual event is a fundraiser for the Rendez-Vous Centre and mixes arts and crafts with an opportunity to sit down and enjoy a tea or coffee with some homemade desserts. Kiriak said the dumplings are best served with brown sugar and sucre a crème. A decade of service
Mike Porlier of Home Hardware and Dallas Fee of Traeger Canada wood pellet grills demonstrated barbecues with prepared potatoes, asparagus, pizza, chicken wings, bacon, sausage and biscuits Friday afternoon. Home Hardware celebrated 10 years over the weekend with discounts and in-store specials. The family business has been in operation for 70 years in Morinville.

Trees on Main
On Thursday morning Town of Morinville Parks and Facilities members Tyler McArthur operating the equipment, Rolly Hebert, Foreman Brody Stoddart and Dan Ricard were busy planting Brandon elm trees along 100 Avenue. This one was in front of St Germain Place. Another was placed in front of Chef’s Pizza, CX Shooters and in front of St. Jean Baptiste Church. The Town also planted 50 trees along the trails and some larger trees in South Glens over the past two weeks.
