Our team consists of 15 players and two goalies this season that travel from Morinville, Legal, Westlock, Calahoo, Rivière Qui Barre and Wabamun. Many players are new to the AA stream but all are proving themselves as great competitors open to learning and developing their skills. Our boys are playing in the Edmonton Rural Bantam Hockey League where almost every game is a battle to the end. Even if they all travel in from different locations they seem to have come together nicely as a team and look forward to proving themselves throughout the year. Our two exceptional goalies have been great to watch and are due to see more wins under their belts very soon. If you’d like to support the team, they are having a Pub Night Fundraiser at the Beer Hunter in St. Albert Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Jets lose one, win one during the week

The Morinville Jets picked up two points in two outings last week, dropping a 6-4 decision to the Edmonton Mustangs Wednesday night and pushing a 4-4 contest with the Red Wings into overtime Friday night to take the game 5-4. The win and loss bring the Jets record to 7-10-1 this season and places the club in a two-way tie with the Red Wings for fifth place in the Capital Junior Hockey League’s West Division.

The Jets take to the ice in Morinville Friday night to take on the visiting 15-2-1 St. Albert Merchants. Game time is 8:30 p.m.

Kings working to be kings

The Morinville Kings took to the road Saturday to take on the Athabasca Aces. The club returned with a 5-3 win for their troubles, bringing their season record to 6-2-0. The club return to home ice Saturday night to play the Drayton Valley Wildcats.

Gametime is 8:30 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre.
