Home-ice win moves Jets up a notch

Morinville – An 8-3 victory over the visiting Beverly Warriors Tuesday night gave the Morinville Jets their second win in as many outings, and brought the club’s season record to 12-14-2 with 10 games left on the road to playoffs. The club is currently sitting in fifth place in the Capital Junior Hockey League’s West Division.

Tuesday night’s game saw the Jets and Warriors evenly placed in scoring opportunities but the Jets dominating in capitalizing on those chances. The Jets lead the Warriors 3-0 after 1, advanced the lead to 7-1 by the end of the middle frame, and added another in the final period to end the contest 8-3. Branden Domoslai, Nick Pratt, Keagan Arcand and Tyler Hagel each scored a pair of goals to build Tuesday night’s tally. Three of the club’s goals were scored shorthanded.

The club continues a heavy week this weekend. The Jets take to the road Friday night to face the Sherwood Park Knights and return home for a Sunday night game against the Spruce Grove Regals. Game time is 6:45 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre.
