The Morinville Kings and Morinville Jets took to the ice this weekend for playoff and regular season games.

kingsKings start playoffs

The Kings took to the ice in Morinville Saturday night for game one of a best-of-three NCHL round one series against the Westlock Warriors. The Kings were defeated 6-4. Because the Kings finished the season in second place, they have home ice advantage. Game two of the best-of-three run will be played in Westlock Feb. 8. If a third game is required it will be on home-ice Sunday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. If the Kings push it to Round 2, they will enter a best-of-five series.

Sturgeon Peewee C Mustangs

What a year it has been so far! With a few kids lacing up for the first time ever, we have had a lot of learning and basics to cover. With hard work, great listening and huge hearts, this group of boys has proven that their efforts are paying off! They have great off-ice banter and on the ice they have each other’s backs! We are very proud of how they are constantly improving and moving forward. Keep it up boys! You are doing a fantastic job and it really shows! Most of all, keep having fun and enjoy the rest of the year! Go Peewee C Mustangs Go!
