Open house
The Morinville Public School Junior High Open House was held Thursday night with an information session on the options for Grade 7 students starting in September 2014.Currently at more than 415 students and steadily growing they expect to reach the 520 mark next year. The sign up sheets were available for the complimentary courses with a Sports Academy, Dance Academy and Rock Band. Other courses such as drama, fine arts, robotics and digital photography are already covered with the expertise on staff. MPS has already been in discussions to start participating within the Sturgeon School Division for Interschool Sports with team sports such as volleyball, basketball, cross country running, track and field and badminton.

Les Bucherons entertain
Les Bucherons performers Gilbert Parent and Ian Porteous demonstrate a voyageur style dance for Georges H. Primeau students on Thursday afternoon. Parent also played the accordion and musical saw before the packed audience in the gym.

It’s all Greek to me
Primeau students from Scott Raypold’s class have been studying Greek mythology. Thursday they were all dressed up for a group photo after their class presentations.

Donations aplenty
Primeau Students Kyra Pennock, Adrian Golden, Mikayla Foster, Morgan Christopherson, Hayden Panchyshyn and Spencer Zubko-Birss with some of the many donations they collected for their service project. Students collected more than 710 toques, mitts, scarves and blankets for Project Warmth. The service project was for bundling up fellow community members in need. The items will be donated to the Youth Emergency Shelter and other charities in need.
